Dear Friend,
In the summer of 2008 I heard that TheCall was coming to San Diego. Then in August I led worship for a second time that year at a San Diego pastor’s prayer gathering where one hundred pastors, prayer warriors, and ministry leaders prayed for twelve hours. I began to realize the promise God made to me when I left University of California Riverside to relocate and minister in San Diego. God was stirring hearts to unite in prayer in San Diego for His glory.
In August of 2008, God called me to leave my career. Having no plans, I obeyed. However I did know I was called to serve in a vocational ministry capacity. Despite an offer of a 33% raise, I gave four weeks notice to my employer and began to seek direction in prayer.
Through a friend from the Justice House of Prayer San Diego and a series of God-orchestrated encounters, as a non-paid volunteer, I began traveling throughout Northern and Southern California and promoting TheCall San Diego. My experience and history had been divinely orchestrated for what I believe is the prayer movement.
This season of my life is to be dedicated to actively encouraging the prayer movement within California. For this reason I have recently joined the staff of TheCall fulfilling the role as the Statewide College Ministries Mobilizer for California. In some estimates 83% of students who are believers fall away from the church and/or the faith by the time they graduate college. It will be the college students of today that will be the leaders in the future. What if instead of falling away they became radical men and women of prayer? What if we see a generation of college students that do not buy into the false philosophies of humanism, individualism, and entitlement but rather a generation that will pray and fast and display the supremacy of Jesus Christ over all things?
It is my heart’s desire to see the church fasting and praying for another great move of the Holy Spirit for God’s fame and renown in California. For decades California has been so influential to the rest of the nation. I dare to believe that God wants to raise an army of believers who will fast and pray for breakthrough of social, educational, and cultural strongholds in California. Such an army of prayer will impact the rest of our nation and the world.
